Authorized and Paid for by Goodman for Kansas House District 41. Mark A. Grisham, Treasurer
Leavenworth, KS: It’s official. Leavenworth resident, Jana Goodman, “secured enough petition signatures and filed to run as the Republican candidate for the Kansas House of Representatives, 41st District,” reported Goodman’s campaign manager Col. Tony Monaco (ret.), Leavenworth.

“There is a lot of excitement about Jana’s candidacy. We have raised over $20,000 for her initial campaign war chest,” treasurer, Mark Grisham, Leavenworth, stated.

“Collecting signatures for the candidacy petition was an eye-opener. Not only did we get the signatures, but we found lots of people who want government to work for them--not the other way around,” Goodman said. “Our supporters are enthusiastic and ready to support good candidates. The Republican Party in Leavenworth is organized, energized, and excited about all our candidates. Starting now, we will be walking neighborhoods and talking with citizens, no matter what party.”

Goodman is a computer professional with long experience in the public and private sectors. She knows the value of hard work and family: “We need more jobs. I will focus on bread and butter issues,” Goodman said. “Every dime makes a difference. Tax money comes from the pockets of real Kansans. We even pay taxes on milk and eggs. It’s just out of control.”

“I am an army brat, and I am married to a retired career military man. So I am also especially concerned about veterans’ issues. Unfortunately, Kansas has a spotty record in this area. I intend to improve that record. Next week I will be meeting with the leadership of the Kansas House of Representatives to discuss legislative issues and strategies.”

The Honorable Connie O’Brien, state representative from the 42nd district that includes the southwestern part of Leavenworth, said, “I have worked with Jana on a number of issues and can’t wait to have her as a colleague in the House.”

Goodman and her husband of 39 years, Jon, have three grown children: Jack, Courtney, and Liana Wells. They settled here in 1992 after Jon retired from the US Army with 22 years of service. Jon was the assistant city manager of Leavenworth for a number of years before retiring from that position. The couple manages Goodman Rentals in Leavenworth.

Jana welcomes contacts with interested citizens. “The best part of campaigning is talking with the public. I want to be a true servant of the people. As a citizen legislator, I will have frequent town hall meetings and regular office hours here in Leavenworth.”
