As a citizen and servant of the people, I always remember these principles:
1) If it belongs to you, you take care of it.
2) If you encourage something you get more of it.
3) If you discourage something you get less of it.
4) It’s always easier to spend someone else’s money.
5) Government money comes from real people paying taxes.
6) When these real people—like you—pay taxes, you have less of your own money to spend.
7) Too much government spending hurts prosperity.
8) The basis for real, lasting prosperity is a free economy.
9) People with differing opinions and ideas are not an annoyance to government officials—they are a valuable resource.
10) Government officials work for citizens—not the other way around.
